I have just built my first PC and have a question on updating the BIOS. My build is as follows;

Mobo- ASUS P8ZZ77-V Deluxe
RAM – Corsair Veg Blue 16 GB
Intel i7 – 3770 3.40 ghz
EVGA GeForce GTX 680

My question is, should I update the BIOS and drivers even though I am not having any problems right now. I do have my OS and anti-virus installed but that’s it for now.
If I do update the BIOS should I uninstall my OS and start over?

My BIOS on my mobo is the original Ver. when the board first came out.

Thanks for your help….

You should always update both of them.

A decade ago it wasn't quite so necessary, but EFI/UEFI based firmwares (the replacement for the old BIOS based firmwares) aren't as mature or reliable yet. Asus is notorious for releasing a lot of firmware updates which improve stability over time and add support for new features.

I highly suggest updating both, there's little that can go wrong.
