hey,i am going to upgrade my current pc...
here are the specs i choose

amd phenom ii x4 965

ati raedon hd 6770 gddr5

cooler master 450 watts psu

i am not going for any overclocking or unlocking cores..
i play games at 1366 X 768 resolution
would this pc play games that are going to release in next two years at medium or high settings.

a phenom ii x2 is enough???,bcoz i can spend my money on buying a 1080P monitor..

More about : upgrading

It is enough. Though i would get rid of that power supply and upgrade to a 6950 or 560ti and maybe anything higher. Anything below a 6950 isn't worth upgrading to. You also may want to overclock later on as your cpu is already a bit old.

Games use two to three cores so on CPU intensive games you might start to max out the CPU with a dual core. I would go with the Quad core 965. Both will work but you will probably be better off with the quad core. I would also getter a better and bigger PSU. Atleast 500-550 Watts and from a known vendor that sells good quality PSU's like Seasonic or Corsair.

I would still say a 500-550 watt PSU. The problem is with junky power supplies they usually don't put out what they say. So it might say 500 Watts but it probably won't put out anywhere near that amount. It might be more like 350-400 watts. Good quality PSU's will put out what they say. If it says 500 watts under load it will put out 500 watts.
