Mother board in the way of possibly new GPU? w/ PICS

Hi I recently got a new computer and I'm going to upgrade the GPU but I think the mother board piece that sticks out might be in the way? I'm not sure if the graphics card will just go over it? Some help would really be appreciated!!!
