Gaming on a television?

im using my computer on my TV instead of a monitor. im having slight difficulty with the resolution. if i put it on a decent resolution it either takes up 1/5th of my screen, or over the edges. what can i do about this?

It may be the overscan/underscan option in the TV menu. I had this problem myself.

im using an htc tv, can i change this option in the menu or is there somewhere else i need to look?

It may be in Nvidia control panel or Catalyst Control Center

set the resolution to be the same as the tv

enable Vertical Sync too
