I usually just play games on my Xbox and rarely play computer games. I do have friends that play some games on their M11X, etc. such as League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth, etc. I really just want to build a gaming computer that will allow me to play some of the MMO games that are available for PC but not Xbox. I do not mind playing on medium-low settings, but I would like the option of having a motherboard that is upgradeable in the future. Also a PC that could serve as a UPNP server would be nice. I noticed that the gamer has a build that is around 320-350 dollars without the OS.

The parts he included were:

HIS Radeon HD 6670 1 GB (128bit) DDR3 HDMI DVI-D (HDCP) VGA PCI Express X16 2.1 Retail (RoHS) Video Card H667FS1G

Rosewill R103A Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 350W Power Supply with 20+4 pin connector

Asus 24x DVD±RW Drive DVD-RAM/±R/±RW 24x 8x 16x (DVD) 48x 32x 48x (CD) Serial ATA Internal OEM DRW-24B1ST (Black)

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1 TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s with NCQ 32MB Cache 3.5 Inch Internal Bare Drive ST31000524AS

Kingston ValueRAM 2GB 1333MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM Desktop Memory

ASRock H61M-VS Intel H61 Micro ATX DDR3 1333 Motherboard

Intel G530 CPU 2.40 GHZ 2M CACHE 2.4 2 LGA 1155 Processor (BX80623G530)

If anyone can help me find better parts for a similar price. I would be grateful. I also have a microcenter nearby if that matters. Thank you guys.

I'm not sure it can be done for that cheap right now with HD prices the way they are, but for that - your build looks pretty good.

A couple of things:

- Don' t get a case with a built-in PSU, most built-in PSUs are junk and way more likely to fail than anything else. If you want a value PSU try this one - it's great for the price:

- Asus DVD burners are terrible. I had one nearly explode on me. Try Lite-On, Sony, or LG for the price.

- I'd go for the Intel H61 board over the Asrock personally, the Intel boards - if you don't plan to use them for any advanced features - are quite excellent and very underrated around here.

- HIS is a pretty decent brand for Radeon cards, but Sapphire and XFX are better. I've bought quite a few Sapphire cards and they've never given me any trouble. You also might want to consider the Geforce GTX 550.

- And try to increase the RAM to at least 4GB, there's not a lot of games that will run on 2GB RAM right now anymore.

My Microcenter has a bunch of AMD bundle promos should I go with those instead of the Intel ones? Btw my Microcenter is the one in Northern Virginia if anyone wants to help me with deals that may be cheaper through that than Newegg?

Now really isnt the time to be budget building, sry to say. Natural disasters have been just destroying all the major pc component manufacturing companies. Just look at some of the recent hard drive prices.

If you choose to continue might i suggest keeping track of neweggs email specials as they are release, waiting until black friday then picking your gear up, or if you are impatient, pick up this:

and

Edit, its worth your time to sift through combos, it can save you anywhere between 10-20% some times.

What if I switched it out to:

Phenom™ II X2 560 Black Edition -87 with included motherboard(Biostar A780L3G AM3 760G mATX)

4GB DDR3-1333 (PC3-10666) CL9 Desktop Memory Kit-20

22X DVD±RW Burner with Dual Layer Support - OEM-18

6750PE51GSB AMD Radeon HD 6750 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe 2.1 x16 Video Card+Deus EX=78

LOGISYS Computer CS305BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Enhanced SOHO Computer Case 480W Power Supply-35

Thermaltake A4022 92mm CPU Cooler-15

Then I wait a while and buy the hard drive?

Black Fridays isn't always necessarily going to be better - like I keep saying the high end hardware never gets heavily discounted. The closeouts, things they're going to get rid of, that type of stuff is what does get discounted.

Honestly I'd go with the Intel over the AMD setup - the H61 chipset - while it is the low-end of the SB spectrum, is still light years ahead of anything AMD has right now. It will also allow you to have better expansion options in the future.

I'd go with the H61 setup personally.
