Configure windows to show and soft files on application's ..

Every time I call the open file's menu on each application, I have to adjust
them the way that show me just the file's name and date of those files also
sort them by the date (this is the way I want them to be) ,is there any way
to setup windows to do this automatically on all applications ? Thanks,
