I was thinking about replacing my game shark that I lost about a year
ago, but, I remember not being able to input new codes manually, has
this been fixed? or am I just wasting my money. I say this because
there are some codes I want that are only on game shark and not on the
ARMAX that I already have.

Datel who used to write the GS sold it to another company. Datel makes
an action replay now instead which is a whole bunch better as it
downloads codes from the net into the card.

Not entirely correct. The original GameShark was actually the original
Action Replay, sold in the US under license from Datel by Interact. When
Interact got out of the game peripheral business, the hardware rights
reverted to Datel, who then reintroduced it in the US under the Action
Replay name. Interact sold the GameShark trademark to MadCatz, who now uses
the name on a completely different game enhancement device.

Assuming, of course, that one uses a network connection. Otherwise, one has
to manually enter the codes using the PS2 controller or a compatible USB
keyboard, or sneakernet the codes between the PS2 and a PC or Mac using a
USB flash drive.

Speaking of compatible USB keyboards, IIRC, both Datel and MadCatz make USB
keyboards for the PS2 specifically for entering codes for their repsective
game enahncers.

Ditch the Gameshark altogether and get a Codebreaker. They are much faster
on getting new codes up, continue bringing out codes on games sometimes for
years. Also you CAN input codes manually and being able to load coades from
your computer to the PS2 via the USB with a pen drive is the best. After
having owned both products I think the Codebreaker is the better product.
