MOST IMPORTANT GOALS:
efficiency (not to break the electricity bill or wallet at time of purchase)
upgradability (NECESSARY)
resale value (pc needs to hold its resale value at about 75-80% for at least 2 years)
quietness (pc may be run overnight at times for torrent downloading purposes and needs to be at a low volume level)
sort of sleek/stylish

Anyways, so here it is:

I'm planning to use newegg for all purchases, so it would be best if someone just edited and posted an edited wishlist.

Btw I already have Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and x64, therefore I don't need an os.

Goals:
VALUE and power for the price
raw power
lack of care about looks
semi portability (not caring that much though, so disregard mostly, i just don't want the pc to weigh as much as a cow)
powerful

Thank you all!

sorry, i don't want an nvidia graphics card. the PC will also be used for bitcoin mining, and nvidia cards will never allow me to make back the power usage. therefore amd/ati is the only way for me.

also i want the system to potentially be crossfirex capable (possibly 3-way, but 2 way is a must)

i dont care about motherboard or processor as long as its able to get 6.5+ on the windows 7 benchmark utility and together costs under $300

Everything I have read has put Intel ahead of the pack in terms of value vs. money. I know I started looking at an AMD Phenom x4 955 because I thought it would be a good value, found an i3 2100 for the same price since all the tests I've seen said the i3 was superior. bought that, then realized that I didn't want to swap out the processor 6 mo from then so I returned that and settled on an i5-2500k for 179 at Microcenter. Can't beat the price especially since the next cheapest place had it for 219.99. If you want resale value over time I think Intel will be the only way to go right now.
