Hello,

Could you please help me find a better video card for my system? Current info is below and can add another 1gb ram if needed. I moslty play Clone wars adventures online and watch movies on my pc. Got a new acer lcd monitor (had crt prior) hooked up by DVI,l set to native resolution 1920x1080@60hz. Had to lower video setting for games and in full screen movies have to much action video is not clear. Fog, smoke or rain in a movie really screws up the picture. I am assuming it is the video card. I can put a pc together but when it comes to the newer stuff...blah...don't know. Not sure what my card my cpu can run. Thanks so much.

coud you simplify it by posting cpu model, mobo model? anything else isnt really needed in order for me to give you an answer.

MB SIS648-fx
CPU P4 x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9 GenuineIntel ~2806 Mhz

Is this what you need? I am sorry. I dont do forums much at all.

Found this ;
ATI / Nvidia
4670 / 7800gs
3850 / 3870 6800ultra
1950pro / 7600GS
1650pro / 6800g
7300gs

But some of them will need an extra power cord so your psu has to be up for that. Quote from a moderator about this topic : If you dont have any PCI-E connectors you may not have sufficient wattage to safely run it, in which case you should consider the 4670 or 4650 as they are lower power, the overall performance will be similar due to the CPU. You can use an adapter to convert a few molex connectors into a PCI-E connector but make sure your PSU can handle it before you do so.

Thank you very much . I have decided on the 4670. Yes, my psu is sufficient at 680 watt with pci-e connections. If i have issues at install will read through the forum before I ask for assistance. :D

:D Oh Yeah, pc is flying now. Card is great. No driver issues. Only thing is the power connectors , I thought, were to be pci-e and here it was molex. Temporarily unhooked 2nd cd drive to power it. It should be on a source by itself. I have 2 pci-e 6 connectors and and 1 sata open on my psu. I thought a sata to molex adapter would be best to use to power the video card. Sound good? Thanks so much for your help. :D :D
