Mixing Ram

Hello, new to the forums, love the site. quick question, i have 4gb of g-skill ram...just ordered 8gb of corsair ram..my mobo can handle up to 16gb...but will i be able to put all of this ram in my pc?

Check the motherboard manual for possible ram configuration. Keep each pair in the proper slots, and you may get lucky. Let the board select the ram timings; they may vary slightly from one pair or the other when mixing.

are you saying my higher end ram could be slowed down? if so, how do i check this...
