there is a 'power 2000 ACD-239 Lithium-Ion Battery (7.4v 900mAh)
Replacement for Canon NB-2L & NB-2LH Battery" for the canon rebel xt
it seems to have more millamps - has anyone compared it to the canon
battery? can you use the canon charger or would you have to buy a
separate charger for the 'power 2000'?

I'm sure it works perfectly as a replacement.
There is a trade-off between battery life and capacity, though. The
increased life comes from thinning the battery's layers to make room for
more of them. Whether or not that's a good thing depends on how much
the battery costs versus how much you dislike lugging around extras.
