Hey everyone, I'm a student studying Illustration and Animation, so I'm using Adobe, Maya, Nuke and etc. I really need to build my own so I can get some work done at home and get work for myself. My budget is $1200-1500 MAX(without monitor) and I want to go at the upcoming deals for black friday and cyber monday to further my bang for my buck. I'm asking for some recommended components for my needs within my funds. Also when, where and what deals are out there for me to watch.

Thanks, Tim

Some of the softwares may use multi-cores very well, think about 2600K or the FX-8150, maybe it will suit you better.

Don't go for dual-vga, it won't bring any advantages, unless in games. Consider just one card, and if money permits jump to a quadro card, or stay with a regular Nvidia or AMD card if not possible.

Consider too a 16GB Ram, it fits very well in rendering machines since it usually keeps a high quantity of seconds rendered in the memory for fast editing.

I shall go with the i7 2600k and I do want a quadro. I'm looking at the PNY Quadro 2000.

Not bad...

Intel Core i7 2600K runs cooler and quiter, so until you overclock, you can stay with the stock fan.

Also it's not that power hungry, so you can get the 520 version of Seasonic's PSU.

A HUGE NO to OCZ SSDs...they are bad and low quality. If you don't want the Samsung which is clearly the best out there, see Crucial M4 or Intel's SSDs

Another no to motherboard. Get a Z68 one.

Quadro 2000 is a great GPU but I would stick with the Firepro as It's more entry level and suitable for you
