Best great vocal recording soung card for desk top cpu

Hello,
I am using a dell pent.4 prosessor. 512mb of ram, and windows xp. Im wanting to change the sound card out to a m audio delta 44 or 66. I need crystal clear recording through the mic input. I have a nice mic and preamp. Still only on this cpu does the vocals sound muffled.....not clear. Any suggestions would be helpful before I spend the money on a sound card Im not sure about. Thanks

No other mainstream soundcard makers offer the same features.

Yeah, most soundcards do not focus on audio input. M-Audio is one of the brands that does, and there are probably others [none I can name off the top of my head though...]
