setup:

micro: amd phenom 1 9950 2.6 ghz
mobo: asus crosshair formula 2
memory: 4 gb ddr2 800
gpu: geforce 9600 gt
psu: thermaltake 600w 36 amp 80 % eficience

I want to buy a new video card (geforce 560 ti) and wanted to know if I should change the Microprocessor 2.6 GHz AMD -9950 phenon because almost certainly going to be a bottleneck ...

I wanted to know your opinion, I may buy a amd phenon 2-965 3.4 GHz is the best it can support my motherboard am2 +.

and wanted to know if with that microprocessor amd. I'll be able to fully exploit the video card. thanks sorry for my English.

1- you're CPU won't bottleneck the GTX 560ti, just do a little overclock maybe @ 3.0 or 3.2 GHz
2- Phenom II 965 is an AM3 CPU even if your MOBO supports it i don't see any advantage of getting an AM3 CPU on an AM2+ socket without having the native support of DDR3 1333 MHz, and besides if you're going to have a new CPU and a new GPU why don't you consider upgrading the whole PC, the new AMD CPU "Bulldozer" is coming all the way in a couple of weeks

He has a Phenom I, so his odds of OCing are pretty small. Considering the slow speeds of those CPUs, I wouldn't get a GTX560TI. I'd also take a look at the PSU, TT isn't known for always having the best PSUs.

he could get easily to 3.0 GHz @1.4V with lowering HT link and a good cooler, Thermaltake as i know is one of the popular manufacturers these days i was going for toughpower XT 775W instead of my Antec it had a great reviews

Again, as a Phenom I I wouldn't say "easily". I'm not sure how much a 3.2GHz 9950 would be able to keep up with a GTX560TI. I remember those benchies back in the day, and a 9950 was nearly as good as a Q6600. They test those GTX560TIs on 4GHz+ I7s. I'd bring the GPU down some, or replace the CPU as well.

2.8 / 2.9 / 3.0 Quad core processor wouldn't bottleneck a GPU, the HD 4870 X2 and HD 4890 was released with the Phenom series, the question is couldn't these CPUs handle those GPUs, or am i missing sth ?
again, he is not going to run 2 cards

First of all, games vary on the amount of CPU or Graphics they use so it's possible for one game to bottleneck at the CPU and another to not (if the CPU and Graphics are balanced well).

I recommend you go ahead and get the GTX560Ti. You appear to have enough Amperage for this card.

If you decide to overclock, make sure to get a non-stock heatsink ($20 to $40; see NCIX).

Always run MEMTEST if you mess with CPU or RAM timings.

It really depends on the game. There are games that are both CPU and GPU intensive (Warhead) games that are more GPU intensive than CPU intensive (AvP) and games that are often CPU bottlenecked even on midrange single GPUs (SC2). Most likely, a CPU upgrade would be in order to fully take advantage of a 560 ti.

is only 1 video card but I need more cpu I think.

can easily get to 2.8 ghz OC with the option of giving me the motherboard but I need a better cooler ...

my temperatures without oc are: (hours of heavy gaming)
60-65 C cpu micro (the phenon 1 were always warm)
GPU: 55 - 59 C
System: 50c

but if I oc without a good cooler up to levels not significantly deceables
70 + c cpu
GPU + 60c
+60 c system

2 questions:

buy a new CPU.?

OR

I buy a cooler and oc?
which is my goal that no bottleneck --- 2.8, 2.9 --- --- 3.0GHz .... more?

this is my psu : http://thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1432&ID=1527#T...

the video card will be used for a tv full hd led 46-inch for Christmas(HEAVY GAMES ). hehe

just buy a new micro see I need a lot ghz those resolutions I think. probably leave the machine in the living room for my sister and I start saving for bulldozer - mobo- ... the video card probably save it for the new building when ready .. hehe

think of the idea?

pardon my English-

just get a cooler IMO, your CPU won't be bottlenecking just ensure to have a stable OC 24/7 2.9 or 3.0 and you're good to go

I would not like to spend more than the bill ... compents pc in my country are expensive. (tax + tax + more price component) =component = lol ..pain in ass...

I will investigate some decent cooler for up to 3 ghz and not have to spend .. lol,
