Blue screens when booting windows with new mobo/cpu!?

So yeah, got a p8z77-m mobo and a 3570k, when I try and boot windows it blue screens for a split moment then restarts.

I've looked around and I've heard people say I need to reinstall windows. Can I just put in a windows disc, boot from that and then click the repair button and not lose any data? Or will it format my hard drive?

Also, could I just buy a new hdd, install windows on that with the new drivers and then install my old hdd and have no issues?

Both options are OK. For the first one, setting SATA to IDE in BIOS would help (try booting from the old HDD with SATA set to IDE).
