I have loads and loads of programs listed in 'all
programs' in the start menu. A lot of these, however,
could be lumped together ie burning software,
spyware/adware, games, security etc etc.
Please could someone let me know whether it is possible to
create categories/tasks in the 'all programs' listing and
then sort each program into the relevant category
If it is poss, please could someone tell me how to do it

Open Windows Explorer, click the plus sign next to Documents and Settings,
click the plus sign next to your user name, the name under which you are
currently logged on, click the plus sign next to Start Menu and then the one
next to Programs, then make any new folders you wish and drag the current
shortcuts to them.

Alot of programs will install under all users though and this won't grab
them all. You'll have to be sure to also modify Document and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs.
If your the only person using your computer you might find it useful to
empty out the All Users start menu, I have and it's alot more manageable.

Thanks to everyone who posted a reply to my question.
As I share my PC (but have overall control!) I moved all
programs into Documents and Settings/All users/Start menu
and then set about adding new folders and moving programs
around.
It seems to have worked out fine
Thanks once again
