Asus m4a77td pro won't power up

Hi i have a Asus m4a77td pro that power off as soon as i let go off the power button. Can it be the cpu?

It could be the power supply. Can you borrow one for testing?

Thanks for replying.I did but it did the same.I also tested the psu on 3 other boards and works fine.

My specs are
Amd athlon ii x4 620
2gb ddr3 1333 adata x3
evga geforce 8800 ulta
WD caviar blue 320GB +1TB caviar green
Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W psu

Currently using most of these parts on a Asus m2n sli deluxe

Is the CPU on the M2N supported by the M4A77TD? If yes, you can install it and test.

Well the m2n board is am2+ and the athlon ii x4 620 is a am3 cpu while the ASUS M4A77TD is am3. I have also tested a athlon ii 260 on the ASUS M4A77TD but did the same.

Try testing the board outside the case. Disconnect the wires from the power and reset switches and start the board by shortly connecting together (use a screwdriver) the 2 motherboard pins corresponding to the power switch.
