Hello,

hello and welcome.
cpu choice depends on what you want to do with it, your budget for cpus, brand pereference (if any), rest of your pc components.
right now, intel is offering better power efficiency, performance for price with sandy bridge cpus compared to amd's phenom and fx.
both companies have good and bad points.

How many VMs do you expect to have up at a given time? Most like you would be looking at something like the Intel® Core™ i5-2400 or the Intel Core i7-2600 both of which support VT-x and VT-d (Virtualization with directed I/O support) a motherboard that uses the Q67 chipset.

thanks wood, I want to work 3 to 5 VMs only. I have checked in market DQ67SW support 32 gb ram(but only 16 gb 4x4gb available now) + I72700k(COST is high compare to i72600).
Is DQ67sw + i72600 + 16GB sufficient for my setup.
