3 beeps- H67 mobo and low voltage memory

First time system builder here-

I assembled my new mini itx htpc with a Core I3 2100t cpu, Intel DH67CF mother board and G.Skill Eco low voltage ram(2*2 at 1.35v)

On power up I get three beeps, a pause, then shutdown- which I've learned points to the memory

I've swapped the memory sticks and also tried them individualy in both slots.

New egg says about the ram- "Designed Specifically for Socket LGA 1156 Intel Core i5 & i7 CPUs"

G.Skill tech support says the H67 board does not support sub 1.5v memory

The box the board came in says it supports 1.2 - 1.8 volt memory

Intel tech support says that only the processor specs matter and that none of the Sandy Bridge chips support low voltage ram.

I've come across blogs that say the H67 and the eco sticks are or should be compatible.

Are the cpu, mother board and ram compatible and if so, assuming at least one of the sticks are good, why won't it post?

Try upping the voltage to 1.5v

Do you mean adjusting the settings in the bios to 1.5v or try using 1.5v stick of ram?

As I can't get it to post, trying a different stick of ram is probably my only option to get to the bios, correct?

The stores closed on me last night before I could pick some up. I'll give it another shot this morning.
  3. I replaced the low voltage (1.35v) G.Skill DDR3 with a new Kingston Value Ram (1.5v) 2GB DDR3 PC3 10600/1333MHz

Inserted in both slots, same 3 beeps followed by shutdown.

As with the eco Ram, I get the same 3 beep response when no Ram is inserted as well.

    What am I missing?
  4. Newegg agreed to take the eco ram back outside of the 30 day date because the site clearly states the ram was designed for that chip series.

Is this a solid memory choice?

  6. I just placed a new stick of 1.5v DDR3 4GBs (my 3rd RAM purchase) and placed in either slot and still get 3 beeps. I've unplugged the PSU and internal battery and waited 45 minutes numerous time. I even reseated the CPU.

Please help! Is this indicative of a bad motherboard?
