Computer black screening

As my title states, I just recently, like a day or two ago, began having black screen problems. The computer, usually while gaming in full screen mode, though it can be in windowed, and today barely doing anything (web browsing), will black screen. It appears as though everything else in order, sound comes through, the system's fan's whir, ect but the monitor reads as if there is no input. I have a homebuilt system that I built around April from new parts, this was my first foray into doing it yourself. I haven't had any trouble with it, it's a beast, other then an odd fan whining from one of the fans that is on top of my ram.
