ASUS VE247H Black 23.6" 2ms Full HD HDMI LED BackLight LCD Monitor w/Speakers 300 cd/m2 10,000,000:1 (ASCR)

isn't 2ms suppose to be like 120hz? all my games only have 60hz on 1920x1080 which is my highest res. How can I change this! I use DVI to DVI I have a HDMI cable too but i don't know if it makes a difference help!

2ms is response time (ms for milliseconds, a measurement of time), which in this case is GTG or gray to gray: it is the time it takes for a pixel to go from gray to white and back to gray. Hz is hertz the measurement of frequency and this is refresh rate, the number of times per second the display can draw data (commonly associated with fps, frames per second). You should be able to change to monitor to a max of 76hz. I got this number from the max vertical refresh rate.

thanks for the replies, one last question. If it can reach higher hz how do i make it higher because when i selected screen resolution on windows options it says 60hz is highest and i can't make it any higher even if i uncheck "hide modes that this monitor can't display"

60/120hz,, Is the refresh rate of your monitor per second, it is just another way of saying 60 /120 cycles per second,if you have a 120hz capable monitor you need a different DVI cable than the standard one which only uses half of the connections compared to a 120hz which uses all of them ,your monitor manual will tell you if it is so equipped ie,,capable of 120hz...:)

According to the specs I've found for that monitor, it is not a 120hz monitor. It has a max refresh rate of 76hz, which I assume is for lower resolutions. At 1080p you typically are only given 60 or 120hz options. This is because the limitations of the single link DVI connection and or HDMI, which limit you to 60hz at 1080p. Lower resolutions will allow for higher refresh rates.
