Having issue connecting to internet

I have just completed a build for my brother for Christmas and am having issues connecting to the internet.I have two builds sitting side-by-side and the other build(my computer) connects fine. Any trouble shooting advice??

Wired -- can you get into the router setup screens ?

Wireless ? Does it connect if you turn off wireless security ?

I got it connected.Apparently I had to unplug my power to my router,wait ten seconds,then plug back in.Who would have ever thought of that.
