Hello,
Thank you for any help. I took my computer out for cleaning, but there was a huge temperature difference (40C)and I think I damaged the mother board. I bought a new motherboard. The one I had was a biostar, but it is no longer sold so I have replaced it with an M.S.I. one, so...
1) Will my new motherboard be able to use the hard drive with the operating system that is on the hard drive?
2) How do I know which SATA port to plug the hard drive into? Does it matter

thanks

Yes, since you'll probably buy a board with a similar chipset. What are the boards models?

I am laughing because thats not something I checked (live and learn I guess)

I took out a Biostar TA 880 GU3+
and put in a MSI 760GM-P34(FX)

I have this sinking feeling - thanks

Although not the same, the HDD should work. Was SATA set to IDE or AHCI in BIOS?
Have you checked if the CPU is supported by the new board?
