Replacing a Motherboard - please help

Hi guys
A couple months ago my old desktop PC broke down, the fault belonged to the motherboard which has burned out. I know it may sound dumb to say I don't know the motherboard model but I've looked all over the motherboard itself and found no intelligible model numbers. Anyway I was hoping that you guys could help me out picking out a replacement as I'm having some difficulty doing so. I don't want to build it from scratch but rather use the components that are still in good condition.

PC specs
Model - Aspire M7300
OS - Windows Vista 64-bit
6gb RAM
750gb storage
VGA - ATI Radeon 4850 HD 1024mb

Motherboard specs
AMD Phenom ii x3 710 triple core processor
Other unknown

Just a couple of questions:


What type of ram is it? It should have a sticker attached to it, type all it says.

What power supply do you have?

With RAM i have 4 chips 2 of which are 2gb and 2 are 1gb.

Ok, good, that means you have ddr3 1333 mhz ram, and 450w is good.


You can reuse your ram no problem.



Now the question is, is your cpu still any good.

If not then you would need a bundle yes, otherwise all you would need is a cheap AMD am3+ motherboard to reuse all your parts.



Is there any way for you to test your cpu? The Phenom ii x3 710 triple core processor?


Another friend with a am3+ motherboard could test it.
