Please verify this. Happend 4 times in 2 days. Looks like it comes from your publicity provider.

I haven't had the problem. Maybe you have a virus or some other malware...

Most likely a dodgy Google ad. They don't control what shows up, but I do think they can request that certain ads not be cycled.

It happened to me too, twice today. Once at work at once at home. Something about "Global Security" scan...

Some people just don't feel responsible for what is put on their pages.

Just run malware bytes and it will take care of it.

It's not a local infection... it's coming from Tom's Hardware. I navigated to the forum page at home and was redirected and when I did the same at work the next day, the same thing happened. Both computers are running current up-to-date anti-malware programs. It just happened again when I clicked the Forum link to read another forum. It's only happening on this site... no other sites have redirected me to this other crapware. I sincerely hope that whoever is running this clown show gets it fixed soon.

Could be an SQL injection, but that seems unlikely otherwise it would affect everyone and I've seen no evidence of any of this. I also use an ad blocker.

Well random, it's very "random" if you'll pardon the pun. It doesn't happen to me all the time either; and when it does happen, it usually happens when you're navigating to the main Forums page, rather than in any of the forums themselves. This is the ONLY website it's happening on, so I'm very disinclined to believe it's from the client side. Like I said though, it doesn't happen all the time... I almost went the whole day at work without seeing it. It would be helpful if the servers were checked to see if anything is amiss.

i have ad block on and no script on, and it seems to be not doing anything at all to this end...
February 11, 2010 9:45:41 PM

^ Yup. Same here. Haven't seen no stinking ad for ages..... :D
February 12, 2010 11:51:54 AM

they need to disable ads for logged in members with like a certain rank or were from the old days ( ie have the 1970 date)

Well today it seems to be behaving itself... hopefully whatever was causing it has been permanently exorcized.

Just re-occured for me again, been happening multiple times a day every day since Monday. :fou:  :fou:  :fou:

They're looking into it.

It happened again today to me as well... although now Sophos identifes it and blocks the redirect:

Threat: Mal/FakeAvJs-A

Threat source : http://89.248.174.62/index.html
The requested location contained malicious content and was blocked from downloading.

Don't know if that will help or not... but that's where the redirects take you.
