i am will to spend around £100 - £120

The 6850 is a bit more powerful than the 550. The 550 is equivalent to probably around a 6770/6790.

but the cheapest hd 6850 is for $140

i recommend PNY GTX 460 1G for $120 after rebate !!:

in England $140 is worth like £88 so would the PNY GTX 460 1G be worth it

They are pretty close, the 6850 is only better if the 460 you are looking at is teh 768mb version. You want to get a 1gb one.

Bad as it doesn't provide GTX460 performance. The card can be good depending on the price you pay.
