Hi, folks.

My brother is building his gaming rig. So far he got:

Processor: i5 2500k
MoBo: ASUS P68z68-v
Graphics card: 1 x Geforce GFX 580
RAM: 2 x 4gb Corsair Vengeance

His focus is gaming. I have a Dell U2410 and I am pretty satisfied with it. But that's a 2010 model. What new models are out there that outperform the Dell U2410 that you would suggest?

he wants a gaming monitor why are you talking about IPS. TN is the type for gaming, nobody likes the ghosting you have to deal with on an IPS.

@ henriquefd
if you want right at $700 this monitor is amazing, i would kill for 3 of them, well if i knew i could get away with the murder.

Yep, I recommend IPS too, modern e-IPS monitors dont have ghostings or trailings, not that you could see with your eyes. And color gamut is amazing, after I saw IPS, I dont want to get back to my old TN. Also I should mention, IPS doesnt cause the eye strain, so its your choice.

my eyes must be way more sensitive than yours. ive notice crazy ghosting on ips panels i can even notice it on my 1 ms responce samsungs. but much less.
you might just be playing slower games or play slower, or have uhh.... slow eyes, or bad color vision and therefore dont notice the difference in shades that ghosting causes. but i notice.

Wow you must be superhuman :p. I have a great eyesight and play a couple of fast paced sports... so my coordination is pretty good. I guess you must be part of the 2% who can tell the difference ^_^, ho well! IPS still kicks ass, for us, normal humans ;)
