I just purchased the New PS2 And am quite amazed at the size and the
cool top loading that sony decided on .I am nearly sure that whatever
the PS3 Is going to look like you can guarantee it will also be top
loading with no CD Drawer. Does anyone know if The new PS2 Has a faster
CPU Or not?

far as I know it's the same but make sure you give it plenty of
breathing space, it can get a little warm across that nice shiny strip
area.

Just realised that in these age of miniaturisation, it is hard to see how
PS3 can be smaller than the slim PS2.

I just hope it isn't a slot loader!

Technology is always larger to start with. The PSOne was out when the
PS2 was launched. The PS3 is most likely going to be a comparable size
to the old PS2.

Just think yourselves lucky, it could be the size of an xbox!

The PowerBook I use has a slot-loading optical drive and I like it
quite a bit. The only problem is that it won't take the mini CD or
other odd-shaped discs, but that should matter even less with PS3
games or movies.

What do you have against slot-loading drives?

Not just them but even drawer loaders. The more 'auto' stuff on
equipment the more to go wrong.

I like slot loaders and have never had a problem with them, My DVD, CD and
DVD ROMS and car stereo are all slot loaders.

I have never been keen on the idea of fitting a fragile disc through a
slot, and as for the drawer mechanism it's hard to tell if that is
responsible for the collapse of a fair few ps2s. Of course this is all
preference, but at least with a flip lid it's just a button.
