Budget Computer to run BF3

Good day all,

One year ago I built myself a computer to play games and I would say that I succeded (Tom's hardware helped me for sure). I want to build a computer for my friend but he's on a budget 600$ (Doesn't need keyboard/mouse/Monitor). I would like to know what you would recommend. The purpose of the build is mostly to play games.

Thanks in advance

  1. Does he need an os as well?
    He needs an OS

Does he have any spare parts like HDD or old opticals that he can salvage from an older pc to help save money for better gpu/psu etc.
He has IDE HDD (probably not good). He has an optical drive.

Does he know how to overclock, will he ever buy a 2nd gpu, does he want any upgradeability?
No he doesn't (neither do I haha). Upgradeability is not important and he probably won't buy another GPU soon.

    Corsair CMPSU-750TXV2 Enthusiast Series

Comes to about 600 without OS

  4. He would also need a case. Not a fancy one lol.
  5. LOL my bad. Guess 600 would be tight. this case is nice Cooler Master Elite 342 - Mini tower - micro ATX - power supply 400 Watt, get a psu aswell all for 50 $, and has window
  6. sorry this is the windowed one Cooler Master RC-430-KWN1 Elite 430 Mid Tower ATX Case - ATX/Micro-ATX, USB, Audio, 120mm Blue LED Fan, Black. Its 50$ aswell, but no PSU
  7. It's very hard due to OS and HDD prices :( If you can spend around 100$ more or get windows for free as student, that would help ;)
  8. What do you think about that? (It's in CDN dollars so I had to change some things.
