I personally appreciate cases that don't look like ammo boxes with lights on, but it's almost entirely stylistic preference. Most cases above $60 or so are perfectly good at their jobs.

i am biased towards the (owned) Thermaltake MSI Commander. Solid steel, oh-so-many fan options, ample space, great looks+window, ability to run your cables in the right side of the case, filters everywhere, sturdy tool-less config (that also allows you to screw drives in place should you wish it), solid and silent fan and a budget price to top it off. I have built many systems on many cases and the big fans don't excite me, all the advantages of the MSI Commander do.
