I have an old Dell Dimension 4500 with, I think, an AGP2 video card. Is my AGP2 card compatible with 21" flat screen monitors?

Depending on the connections on the monitor and card, yes. The monitor should have a VGA port and so should the card, but if they have a DVI port use that instead.

Thanks very much. Supplementary question I forgot on the first query: Will this allow the use of the high resolution on the monitor?

It depends on the resolution your monitor supports. Give us the model name and we could tell you.

For example if you have a 21" monitor/LCD, they usually support at least 1920x1080 resolution if it's a fairly neweish LCD.
