I can think of a few reasons:

You have to buy trials for goods/services you don't need/want in the first
place.

These trials are rediculously overpriced and have automatic recurring
charges unless you cancel.

Even if you do cancel they will just give you some bullshit about how you
didnt do it right, their records don't show you canceled, it will take a few
weeks/months before cancel is complete during which time frame you will be
charged again and Im sure I havn't gotten all the excuses.

In the end you will have spent as much as and more than likely in excess of
the amount it would have cost you to just go buy the damned thing from best
buy and get the service protection plan.
