I built my computer about a year ago. I read and read, purchased good components and even right now the systems runs flawless as configured. The thing is, I cannot get the Asrock AUTO turbo in BIOS to function. If I enable it, the computer boots ok but in 5 min or less it will bsod. Most everything else in the BIOS is in Auto mode. The strangest thing is in the BIOS wording. It says that some features are disabled (does not say which ones) because my ram is version 1.2 and I need to install XMP version 1.3. According to Asrock and I have in writing, this mb does not support version 1.3, the BIOS screen says it supports XMP 1.3 as standard. I had to send Asrock a picture of this BIOS screen. I have not heard back from Asrock. Now I am not super savy in computers and I may have something else set wrong. I spoke with gskill and they were of no help other than they gave me a set of timings to manually set which resulted in a bosd and then to tell me to purchase their "Z" series if I wanted 1.3, (I found out that not all of their "Z" series is 1.3) and that it seemed to them that the computer is working perfectly. I find it hard to believe that the BIOS would tell me to install something it does not support. I have tried two different sets of memory but none at 1.3.
As is, this machine runs any game on max or ultra settings with everything enabled at 60 fps solid, and I do not think that any of this oc stuff has ever kicked in. I think it would be fun to learn this oc stuff but I want to at least get the "auto" to run correctly first. Really all I want is some advice on some XMP 1.3 memory that will operate in this machine, or what else might I do.
