I have a 1998 Gateway 600 MHz that I have up grading whenever I find a better part or substitute a part that was not original. So far, I have increased the size of the Hard drive from 8.4 GB to a 40 GB.
Then traded its dial up modem and traded that for a DSL NIC card.
It has three RAM slots but only one was filled when I got it ; 128MB...I was able to kick that up by finding two more 128 MB sticks and increased it from its original/factory setting.
Now, I want to up grade the Ram again, but this time to 768 MB, but I may have to use a combination of PC 100's and PC 133's.
Will they work together?
And should I ignore a note I read some where that 384 MB was the highest that mo bo would handle?
Thanks for your time and thoughts on this subject.
