Upgrading from a nvidiaGF 6200 turbocache

Hello everyone.

I need some help upgrading my system.
My video card broke so now I need to buy a new one. And I thought that while I'm at it might as well buy something a bit better.
I realize that this is an old system so there's really no point in any mass upgrade. But I know I'll have to stick with it for a good while ( I simply can't afford to buy a new system anytime soon).
My original card was the nvidia GF 6200 turbo cache, now I'm using this radeon x700 256mb just to make it work.
This computer is mainly for surfing the internet and playing mmorpgs.
I don't mind using either ATI or nvidia
Lets say that I would like to be able to play Guild Wars 2 when it'll be out even if it's on minimum or medium settings (of course I wouldn't mind being able to play it on high but given my low processor and everything I don't think that will be an option).
Consider I'm also planning to buy some new ram. I was actually considering to buy some DDR3 but I don't know if it's compatible.
I would also like to know if a DRR3 graphics card would run on my system( because I've kinda taken a liking to the 7600 GT 1Gb but it's DDR3. and I don't know if it'll work)
I'm not a "fan" of 256mb so lets say 512 and up

Well, it has a pci-e 1.0 slot and normally a 2.0 card will work with 1.0. Only not sure if your mobo supports 2.0. You know from what year your mobo is ?

Hmm I think it's from 2005 or 2006 something like that
Honestly I'd prefer the sapphire in the first post.
And after doing a bit of a reading I found out that 2.0 is compatible with v1. But that sapphire is 2.1.. so at this point idk..

TheSapphire is 2.1 so i'm really afraid it will not work. PCI-E2 is from 2007 so your mobo won't support it. The 440 would be a lot better than the 430 obviously.

No zotac is not a good brand. This one is better and cheaper ; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130573 It's allready overclocked. I think you'll have one but make sure you have a 6 pin power connector from your psu. ( thought i saw it mentioned somewhere that it has one but still, better safe than . . .

I am aware that I should upgrade my mobo first. (Actully I think that whole thing should go into the trash can)
But I think it would be a waste because if I upgrade my mobo I'm not sure if that old processor(775) will still work not to mention I have ddr2 ram.
And I think waiting would be a waste since lets say I buy one of the latest mobos now, by the time I get some new money for a nice processor and ram that mobo will be already ''almost'' obsolete.
Obviously as soon as I get some cash I won't upgrade but simply build a new one. I'm sick and tired of these factory made computers...

oh and rob, my psu doesn't have a 6 pin power connector. but I know there's a way over it.

Edit: That ati 6670 does look interesting, but I saw it's a 2.1, my mobo has v1.0 idk if it'll work
