Hello,

Is it best to have the same brand NAS and media player? What are the best combinations?

Not really is the answer to your post. Which regards to NAS's i have noticed you really get what you pay for so decide exactly how you are going to be using it ie. Archiving movies and playing them back directly from the the NAS? Would you need a form of RAID? therefore you will need a dual bay.

I would be storing them on the NAS and streaming to the player. Not sure if I need RAID...I just want something that works and is not to complicated. Do I have to have the same brand player as I do NAS?

Which NAS would you suggest if my choice was between:

Buffalo LinkStation™ Duo 1TB Dual-Drive Shared Storage LS-WX1.0TL/R1

Iomega 2TB StorCenter ix2-200 Network Storage

Which player would you suggest? I have no clue about this stuff. Thanks!
