Upgrade advice

I have a 3 yo alien ware that I have done some minor upgrades on since purchase, but now want to upgrade CPU. I was thinking of Going to a i5 2500 and a biostar T5 XE mobocracy with 8 mb of ddr3. My gpu is new(gtx560) and the power source is a pretty good 750 w.

Does this sound reasonable? Is there anything else I would HAVE to have to upgrade the CPU ?

Currently an asus P5n-d but I wanted to upgrade that as well for better Ram

The t5 xe is the wrong socket, you want 1155.

so you need new cpu+motherboard+ram
i5-2500k is currently best in quad core 4 thread
and you will need a board with z68 or p67 chipset (z68 is better as you can overclock gpu too and have intel smart response technonology)

If it's for gaming you won't even use the igpu so being able to oc that is useless. SRT is also a useless feature for any 60gb+ ssd. But z68 is not really an increase in price and you can have the igpu as a backup if your discrete fails.
