Will my gpu only get x8lanes if i usenetwork card in other pcie slot?

Hey guys i have asrock extreme 4 z77 mobo. It has two pcie 3.0x 16 slot. and if SLI-ed two cards they will go down to x8 and x8. I have one gtx 660 ti. and I also have a network card. if I use a network card in one of the slots will my gpu only get x8 lanes or still get x16? Or should I just use the network card on the pcieX1 slot? Pleaseee Help. thanks in advance.

Hi, If the card is PCIe x1, use that slot.
