I have an Athlon II 635 Propus quad 2.9 ghz processor with 4 gb of ram and a 700 watt power supply. Which Nvidia graphics card should I get in the 150 dollar price range? I was told 550 ti, but I heard not so good things about them. I have been looking at the 460 but I dunno.

Hi
I don't know why you want to choose only Nvidia and it doesn't really matter but, I would suggest taking a read of this to check your options... http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-performance-...

But in your price range go for the GTX 460... or if your quick and you don't mind spending a couple extra $$ for huge performance check out this GTX 560 $164 after rebate

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Then Overclock wichever one you get and really get your monies worth.. :)

Have fun with it!

I asked in another post whether to go with Nvidia or ATI and the people who responded with Nvidia cause originally I was looking at the Radeon 6790. The reason I was looking for a new card in the first place is my GTS 250 is messed up and I wanted an upgrade from that. One guy on the other post suggested the 550 ti but after reading about it I wasn't sure.

The only decent nvidia card falls in ur price range is GTX460 & u have heard right a 550 ti is better than its last gen.. rival(GTS450) but is overpriced.

Radeon 6790 is also a good card & will outperform 550 ti at equal cost.
Dont mind but i will suggest u to thinkover AMD again since for that price range u can get HD6850 which proves itself better than GTX460 (theoritically).

dont listen to the ati vs nvidia wars that get started here, just go with the best bang for buck; the 6790 seems to be what you need atm

Well looking at ATI now I have to ask what is the best brand from experience and also does anyone have a warranty like EVGA does for Nvidia? I want to be covered no matter what I know EVGA lets you overclock and if it messes up it's still covered, does ATI have that from anyone?

MSi has a good warranty; I believe they wont cover it if you fry it with voltage; best know what your doing before you up voltage anyway

For the price a GTX 460 or Radeon 6790 is better.

Galaxy 60XGH6HS3HML GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) GC Version 1GB $139.99

You can get a 768mb version for a few bucks less (about 99.99 with a rebate) but the 1GB version is worth it. The 6850 is also an option in that range.
