It can only cause problems with those if it has a USB hub built into it and you are using your mouse/keyboard on it.

the reason i ask is over the last few months my mouse fails to click on something or freezes.
my keyboard does write but usually after i type a whole sentence.
my monitor will go off but come right back on.
i have used different keyboards, different mouse
different computers
and mouse pad no mouse pad
the only constant has been me and the monitor
this is just driving me nuts
most tend to raise thier eyebrows in doubt
please help

From what you have said I would have to agree that it is the monitor, likely not processing the signal through fully (causing the delay). It sounds like it isnt causing a KB + mouse issue but just appearing to.

I would try it with another cable, make sure all connections are secure/screwed in. If your using one connection then try a different one, i.e. if your using a HDMI cable try with a DVI/vga.

If none of the above works then bin the thing or get a refund (if possible)

What if the GPU constantly detects reconnections of the monitor? This could cause even freezes while the GPU driver reacts. It could also account for periodic screen blanking.
Possible causes: faulty cable (most probably and easiest to diagnose) or even faulty input (monitor) or output (GPU) electronics.
