Best gaming monitor 2011
hi guys I'm looking for the best gaming monitor i want it to be like 23 inches or bigger and $325 at most. I've been looking for a monitor for some time but i don't know what to look for in a good gaming monitor, ill be playing games like Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, Crysis 2 and other games like that would really appreciate the help.
I think the best thing to look out for is what type of connector you want on the monitor, DVI and HDMI or VGA DVI and HDMI, usually with a 23" Monitor you will be able to get full HD but check your Graphics Card for the HDMI output. If so then look for a Monitor that has an HDMI output. If you can and if the budget allows, go with a Samsung LED full HD monitor, they basically come standard with a 2ms response time with a nice high Dynamic Contrast Ratio.
That is what i would take a look at.
I recently switched to IPS monitor type and i love it the games look so nice and finally you can see true black, Doom 3 even more scarier now. I compared it directly with my other TN type and IPS blows it out of water.
here is example
Monitors are a pretty subjective subject. Like cars, music, or women (or men).
I bought this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236079
a 23" Asus LCD for $159.00USD on Newegg about 4 months ago and it's georgeous!
I'm getting this one. 90% of people are satisfied with it. If you have any problems, you've got 3 years of warranty ahead of you so that should be good enough..and bro..it's ASUS lol

These days you really don't have to worry about what monitor your getting. There are many, many great monitors for under $200.
As pivotfreaker suggested, the ASUS VW246H is a favorite among gamers, and a good choice all around. We reviewed it here: ASUS VW246H Review
However, I would actually recommend that if you have over $300 to spare as you said, then go for a bigger monitor. Once you try a 27", you won't want to go back to anything less.
Here are some suggestions through Amazon's search: List of 27" Monitors @ Amazon (link is non-affiliated)
The ViewSonic VX2753MH-LED and ASUS VE276Q seem like good choices. We didn't get around to reviewing them but should in the coming weeks, so take my advised suggestions with a grain of salt.
