Can hdmi cord cause computer problems

Hello,

I was hooking up my computer to the TV. And I plugged the HDMI cord into the computer, I noticed that the cord wasn't the right one - I happeded to touch the connection on my computer and the computer shut off and now I can't turn on the computer. Any ideas?

you made a electrical short close the psu switch the put it on try to start the mobo hope you did not burn something on the motherboard

You can do this with micro usb into usb ports (do it at work to wind colleagues up). Doesnt really cause too much damage.

Turn the pc off, take all cables out, hold the power button in for 20 seconds and then pop everything back in and it should power back up
