What is the estimate price of the 7870 when it is launched? (Which is reported to be faster than the 6970)
When will it come out? (Q4 or the stupid timed Q1 of next year?)

If the card comes out in mid-late Q1 of next year, I would only think of getting it if the price is around $300. But if it cost more than that it would be a pointless wait for something I dont even want (Budget wise)

So whats your opinion? Wait for 7870, hoping that it will be cheaper than the 6970 and faster. But take the risk of it being more than $300 and me not buying it, therefore pointlessly waiting.
Or just stick with getting a 6970 knowing how much it cost. But also taking the risk of it costing more than a 7870 and being slower?

well seeing as how the 7970 is the top the like card that is coming next maybe my guess is the 7870 will be like the replacement of the 6870, so maybe around US $250 at launch. but then again i dont know anything as of yet.

we'll probably just have to wait until release date.

I was really hoping that it is around that price. But when It is coming up to the big boys (580 and higher) thats usually when they start to double in price for small performance gains.

I feel like this card will be one of them. Like %4 better but $40-100 more in price just because they can

well i dont know, according to this post the 7870 is clocked higher and has higher memory bandwidth than the 6970.

if this is true then most likely the 7870 will be around 300 bucks, to be really competetive. and its gonna be around 10-15 percent faster.....i think. man cant wait for these to come out.
