Your question

choosing ram for asus p8h77 -i mobo

December 18, 2012 1:21:33 PM

Hi, i am trying to build a PC on my own, and I encountered a problem when choosing ram.
i chose asus h77 mini-itx motherboard, p8h77 -i ( http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8H7... ) and i went to their official website to see what ram speed i should take, and i saw that 1800+ MHz only supported when overclocked:

Quote:
2 x DIMM, Max. 16GB, DDR3 2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600/1333 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture

* Due to the CPU behavior, DDR3 2133/1866MHz memory module will run at DDR3 2000/1800MHz frequency as default.

but as much as I know h77 chipset cannot be overclocked, if some can explain and maybe give some general information I will be thankful.
