My external hard drive is recognized but wont open

I have a WD 500gb that worked fine until I reloaded window 7, it now is visable but i cant assess ant files, when i open the drive theres nothing there but it still shows the space used, please help!

try to display hidden files, also check the security on the drive and make sure the permissions are set properly

Did the drive come with any software or drivers with it? Did you use any kind of password or encryption on it?

I would also suggest contacting Western Digital support and describing your problem.
