Will it be harmful to my components to run the XFX 6850 Black Edition on a 500W PSU? I have a collection of very intensive PC games and bought the card reassured by some of my friends that it wont draw that much power, i just want some more opinions on this matter.

Heres my system

CPU:AMD Phenom II X2 550
RAM:4 GB DDR3
Motherboard:ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4A77TD (AM3)
Graphics:Radeon HD 6850 Black Edition XFX
PSU:iMicro
PS-UL-500W
UL
ATX3035-500

couldn't find anything matching that serial number aside from 400w PSU's from those people but it clearly says 500w on the unit

Not sure if any other information is needed just ask and i will gladly supply it

Thanks in advance

My left eye twitched when I saw the psu you are trying to use. Get a good psu bro. You have a nice card and it needs a better quality psu. You wouldn't buy a race car and put white wall 14" tires on it, would you? Of course not.

Get something like this:

Your not going CF with this rig but if in the back of your mind you may upgrade so you can and want to reuse this psu, then go for this:

Otherwise, the first two would suffice. Personally, I think I'd go with the PC Power & Cooling psu as Corsair has dropped in quality over the last year or so but is still better than most options...
