Upgrading PC - Question about MOBO

Hello,

I'm going to update my PC very soon because my motherboard wont POST anymore.
I want to buy new hardware but Im scared I will buy something only to figure out its not good enough to game with.

I'm keeping my Video Card (580), DVD burner and thats it.

I play newer games like BF3 and Sky Rim, and I want to continue to do so. Will either of these mother boards be good enough to plugg GTX 580 video card into and play?

I know this isnt the CPU forum but Would a Intel Core i7 2600K Quad Core be a good enough CPU?

Also, is i7 better then i5?

i5-2500k would be fine. 2600k is no better for gaming.
any z68 mobo would be good, will be able to OC to 4.3+ on air.
