Hey there, since Diablo III entered beta testing I decided to make plans for an upgrade if needed. I want to be able to play this game at 1920x1080 resolution with high settings and a little antialiasing, antisotropic filtering etc.
My current specifications are : cpu : e7600 3.06 ghz
gpu : hd3870 256-bit 512 mb
2gb ram
OS : windows 7 32-bit
My guess is that I need a gpu upgrade only. What card would you recommend ? I don't want to hear about gtx460 cause I can't afford it and it's too much anyway only for diablo.
Thank you for your answers !

sorry to say but prices have gone up about 10% for alot of computer stuff over the last few months, and it takes money to buy decent parts, there are only rumours so far on the minimum system requirements for diablo 3, but concidering its possible it will end up on 360 and ps3 as well it looks like its not gonna take a monster pc to power it unfortunly,

post your budget and power supply also and motherboard, and we can try and find something powerful enough to call it a upgrade

unfortunetely :) ) ? that's great news that it doesn't require a monster pc.
Well my power supply is a spire jewel 450W as far as I can remember , my budget is max 130 bucks and my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L

I have a piece of crap Honda, I want it to go as fast a Porsche but I dont have enough money to put a new engine in or a turbo charger, HELP!!!!.

Thats basically what you are saying. Buying computer parts are going to cost you to get better performance. I would go with the 460gtx for 100$ if you cant afford that then wait otherwise you will have buyers remorse buying a crappy card.

It's never "too much". Just because Diablo will end up on consoles doesn't mean a 6770 will max it out...

I wouldn't invest in that PC (lol, 5 months ago I probably would... now I know better) and would just save money to get something more decent.

Dude gtx460 is way too much for a game like diablo....I mentioned that I don't want all new-gen games run high settings just diablo-which is very well optimized and all blizzard products have low system requirements. I guess the hd6770 is a good choice. I dont' need full anti aliasing , v sync all that bullshit. Just 1080p resolution and high settings

well they have where i am, after the sandy bridge e preview the 2500k 2600k price went up 10% overnight, same for 1155 motherboards, and as for power supplys they gone up 30% compared to march, prices where i am suck,

i assumed it would be the same where you are also,

Maybe diablo 2 which was made back in 2002. Diablo 3 is going to be pretty graphically Intense.

For the same price as a 6770 you can get a 460 gtx which is about 70% faster than that card.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

This is 99$ with mail in rebate. And the 6770 is 110$.

In my country the cheapest gtx460 is 166$ and it's a palit. The next one msi is 200$. Then it's just 30 bucks away from an 1GB gigabyte gtx460 which is great. So yeah way out of my 130 dollars limit

lol well what country are you in? because the 3870 was the equivilant to a 8800gt back in its day. You wont gain much performance going to a midline card imo.

as everything in life great pc performance = money!!!!

Diablo 3 aint out yet so might as well save your cash, get at least a GTX 560 or 560 TI and it will be enough to go into your next system build, and save you money in the long run as well as be enough performance to take your games to 1080P and high or highest settings,

the way i see it the reward outweighs the few $$$ u will save, plus add a bit of futureproofing your system gfx card wise anyway lol
