Alright, for my new build I have been searching around for a good AMD motherboard. Considering my time and budget, I have come up with these two options:

AsRock (Favorite Brand):
890GX ($99.99)
890FX ($139.99)

Basically I want to know is whether the FX version is worth the extra $40. I have heard conflicting reports as to which is better for the money and I would like to know from some knowledgable people. I have heard that the 880G model will only do XFire in 8x8 mode so that is out, but I have heard two different things regarding the GX in that it willeither do 8x8 or 16x16?

Please help! :D

Neither is worth buying

The newer 970 and 990 seies chipsets support future processors , crossfire and SLI , along with 6 Gbit/s SATA connectors and USB 3

Want a budget board that can potentially crossfire/ SLI then get
ASRock 970 EXTREME4 AM3+ $110
