AMD phenom X4 9500 && VMware DT 8

Hello,

i read on VMWare site that VMW Desktop required a CPU that has "segment-limit support".

instructions on this AMD is mmx( ), 3DNow!( ), SSE(1,2,3,4a),x86-64,AMD-V

before i uninstall the old VMWare Server app and attempt to install VMW Desktop 8 want to check if this CPU & Desktop8 are compat.

AMD site wasn't much help but i did find the above article there. sure looks like the CPU has virtualization built in though i don't know if it qualifies for segment-limit support.

for anyone else who might have the same question about this particular AMD cpu i found it does do segment-limit support
